If one overclocks Core2 Duo CPU up to 2416MHz but slows down memory to keep it inside specification (at 302MHz) 3DMark overall result does not change! It supports the fact that integrated graphics performance greatly depends on memory subsystem.

G965 has programmable structure and supports hardware vertex and pixel shaders, but has low fillrate. So in simple tests old G945 has higher FPS!

Impact of driver version on performance result is significant. E.g. the multi-texturing fillrate with 14.25 driver version was just 1000MTexels/s which is much lower then even G945. With version 14.25.50 the fillrate was increased to reasonable 1700MTexels/s. And by the way, Intel promised some time ago to release drivers with support of hardware T&L in G965 which present drivers are ignore!

And now (July`07) some preliminary results with hardware shaders support with beta drivers 15.6 for Windows Vista (x86). Obviously with 3DMark 2003 hardware support is slower then  software emulation. It was the long problem with which Intel fought for the last year. So they need to archive at least the speed of software emulation to prove that X3000 platform is what it claimed.

None of this videocards can provide reasonable framerate, although the latest integrated graphics are able to compete with (old) standalone graphics.

And as with 3DMark 2003 hardware support is slower then  software emulation. Although there now SM3 support (Perlin Noise) and triangle setup work with stable 16 MTriangles per second independent of its number (but maximal rate is still lower then with software emulation).
